Upanayanam

Upanayanam, also known as the sacred thread ceremony, is a Hindu ritual performed for young boys typically aged between 8 and 12 years old. The ceremony marks the boy’s entry into the world of formal education, and it signifies the start of his journey to becoming a responsible member of society. During the ceremony, the boy is given a sacred thread, called a “Janeu,” which he wears across his chest as a symbol of his spiritual progress.
