Satyanarayan Pooja

Satyanarayan Pooja is a Hindu ritual performed to worship Lord Vishnu, who is also known as Satyanarayan. The pooja is usually performed on important occasions such as weddings, housewarming ceremonies, and other important events. The word ‘Satya’ means truth, and ‘Narayan’ means Lord Vishnu, who is considered the preserver of the universe.

The Satyanarayan Pooja is typically performed in the evening or at night and can be performed by individuals or groups. The pooja involves the recitation of mantras, offering of flowers, fruits, and other offerings to Lord Vishnu, and the distribution of prasad (sacred food) to the devotees.

The pooja begins with the invocation of Lord Ganesha, who is considered the remover of obstacles. This is followed by the chanting of the Satyanarayan Katha, which is the story of Lord Vishnu and his devotee, who performed the Satyanarayan Pooja and was blessed with wealth, health, and prosperity.

After the Katha, the pooja involves the offering of the prasad to Lord Vishnu and the distribution of the same to the devotees. The prasad usually consists of fruits, sweets, and other delicacies.
